This watch was purchased new some time in the early 1950s by Captain Ralph C. Neary, a seasoned pilot and WWII veteran pilot. The watch was proudly on his wrist during two large incidents, one involving a fiery crash of a Lockheed Super Constellation and later, the skyjacking by the Soviets involving a MIG fighter escort of his plane to a Soviet airbase. This watch comes with a detailed letter by the late pilot's daughter as well as various newspaper clippings of both accidents as well as periodicals and copies of letters. Truly a lovely little watch that gives a direct tie to a person, place, and time. Images of documentation found in this listing will be included, but some of the documentation is copies of the originals, such as his service documents.
