DESCRIPTION: Small Arms - E. Remington & Sons of Ilion, NY, factory engraved Elliot's patent 5 shot pepperbox Derringer pistol, manufactured approximately 1869, .22 caliber rim fire, ring trigger, silver-plated receiver with fine scrolled hand engraving, original ivory grips, 3 inch matching silver-plated fluted flip top barrel with floral etched details top stamped "MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y., ELLIOTS PATENTS. MAY 29. 1860 - OCT.1.1861," s#2112. Very scarce in silver-plated finish with five barrels and even more so with factory engraving and ivory grips. Ivory grips are antique and original to this firearm which was made before 1900; when removed they weigh 16.4 g (this includes their brass hardware and screws).
CONDITION: Good action; excellent overall cosmetic condition, good rifled bore with light pitting, fine barrel with loss of silver-plated finish at barrel tip, barrel top and high point areas, numerous small dings on frame and barrel as well as scattered areas of oxide, pitting and finish loss to side plates where underlying steel is showing though; grips with several light cracks, chip at screw center; trigger with light pitting and oxide. OCT.2.1866, NEW YORK," s#639 stamped on barrel and receiver.
CONDITION: Good action; fine-plus overall cosmetic condition, rifled bore with light pitting, fine barrel with almost complete loss of finish, numerous small dings on wood handle with small crack near trigger guard, complete plated finish loss to receiver and trigger guards where brass is showing through; trigger with light oxide visible. CONDITION: Good action and timing; fine overall cosmetic condition, good bore with strong rifling, metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina with silvering at the high edges, spots of old light pitting, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about the revolver frame, numerous other dings on frame and barrel as well as scattered areas of oxide and pitting; trigger shows light oxide; excellent rosewood grips. A fabulous piece for the Ethan Allen collector.
CONDITION: Good action and timing however the cylinder will not advance unless the revolver is upright; excellent overall cosmetic condition, good bore with strong rifling and light pitting, dark brown tones to case hardened finish, several small dings on frame and barrel as well as scattered areas of oxide, pitting and finish loss; grip strap with several light dings; grips with numerous small dings, small chip to right side grip. A fabulous piece for the collector of Harrington & Richardson who wants a piece from the predecessor firm.
