Hamilton, Model 21 marine chronometer, fusee-drive with spring detent escapement and 56-hour winding indicator, original gimbaled brass tub set within a three tier brass bound mahogany box with Hamilton signature plate and serial number plaque to front, outer mahogany box with gilt Hamilton signature plate and serial number plaque to front, leather strap, silvered dial of approximately 4 inch diameter, KWKS, spring detent escapement with capped escape wheel, 14J, mono-metallic free-sprung balance with helical Elinvar hairspring, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#2E11289 with matching serial number to dial and to signature plaques of boxes. Comes with paperwork including four Hamilton factory timing certificates which are marked with the correctly matched serial number (two certificates are dated, to 1948 and 1960), a Hamilton factory service memo dated 1961 and which is marked with the correctly matched serial number, a warning certificate discussing proper handling of the instrument which is marked with the correctly matched serial number, and with several additional pieces of Hamilton paperwork as pictured. A top example throughout that is sure to please the discriminating Hamilton military collector, and we are pleased to note that this piece was fully serviced in spring of 2021.

EPW - L. Leroy & Cie, Paris, "Service Hydrographique" sidereal time deck watch with winding indicator made for French Navy, 58mm, silver OF original case marked "Service Hydrographique, L. Leroy & Cie, A No 14907" to its rear, signed gunmetal snap-on cuvette, white enamel SS dial marked "Temps" and "Sidera" (presumably originally "Sideral" which is French for sidereal) at center, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, 19J, wolf's tooth winding, gilt mvt, s#14907 marked to dial and case. A rare and attractive high grade piece, this is only the second example of a LeRoy deck watch which we have handled.

Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good gilt tone, some fine scratches and small peck marks to balance cock, lever jewel setting with fine scratch striations from an apparent past sanding or filing, area of finish loss and fine scratch striations at edge of pallet bridge, winding wheels with some oxide spots; dial with some fading and loss to signature and s# marking within winding indicator register, presumed loss of last letter of "Sideral," hl from center to edge at 11, very short hl above seconds-register, few very small light brown spots around center of seconds-register and winding indicator register, infinitesimal pinpoint nick to bottom rim of winding indicator register hole; hour, minute and winding indicator hand are blue, seconds-hand is plum colored, hour is excellent, winding indicator hand and minute are fine, winding indicator hand with oxide, minute with vertical bends of tip, poor seconds-hand with oxide and virtually complete finish loss; case shows little wear, an attractive moderate patina, cuvette with few short scratches at perimeter and small patch of oxide to its lower-central portion, bezel with prominent deep ding adjacent crystal near 8, dent to band at 3:30, ding to band at 4, few nicks elsewhere to band, two dings to rear shoulder at right and upper-right, good rear marking detail, case rear opens somewhat short of 90 degrees (to approximately 80 degrees); bow pivots freely, crown shows little wear; glass crystal with numerous scratches and abrasions.

Comes with its original fitted wooden Hamilton box with upper plaque describing safety setting mechanism operation.

Comes as pictured with a protective carry case and a leather pouch. An attractive example of this British military piece.

APW - Hamilton, Grade 3992B, 22J, World War II era "Master Navigation Watch" made for British military use, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF case with Ministry of Defence (English spelling) pheon on rear as well as Hydrographic Services (HS3) contract markings which have been overscored, painted metal decimal style re-dial executed in 1970s era for UK Royal Navy "Work Study" use, SW-hack-set, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, mvt marked "U.S. Govt.," striped pattern nickel damascene, s#3C588. Watch comes with a fitted wooden box with internal Ministry of Defence 1978 dated card. This watch began life as a Master Navigation Watch but in the 1970s was repurposed along with a number of other 3992B in British stock with the addition of the present decimal style dial and updating of case rear markings for use in "Work Study" at the Royal Navy dockyards.

Golay & Son, London, WWII era British military aircraft watch with center-seconds, 62mm, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with rotating black painted bezel with inner markings on a scale of 0 to 360, threaded screw on band at 1 operates clamp which allows or prevents rotation of bezel, case rear with British military broad arrow (pheon) marking in addition to HS.4 designation, case as-made with no bow or provision for such, white enamel dial with broad arrow marking between "A W" letters, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, likely 18J, gilt mvt, s#81 within case and to dial. The H.S.4 designation is for a Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm dash-mounted timepiece, and during the early portion of World War II these H. Golay watches were used among Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers.

EPW - Heuer, Semikrograph, artillery style split-seconds timer with 3-minute register, quick beat with dial having 1/50-second gradations, 58mm, gunmetal OF original case marked "M.P.W. 1744" to rear, crown at top position for winding as well as for stop, start, and reset function, crown at upper-left position for stop and reset of split-seconds hand, white enamel dial, SW, lever escapement, 7J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#7003 or s#7005 (last digit is partially covered by a chronograph spring). A scarce early Heuer product, by 1936 it appears that Heuer changed the name of this timer style to the "Semicrosplit" as is illustrated in the factory catalog of this date.
