Clock - Guilmet & Marti, Paris, 8-day clock in a highly unusual design of a man using a large band saw, striking and repeating on the hour and half hour, circa 1895, gilt and silvered brass case and Marmo Nero Belgio marble base, clever design elements include use of the saw as the pendulum and a travel option where you can lock the pendulum in place, measures 15.75"h (to highest point) x 13.25"w x 6.25"d, gilt dial, KW-hand-set, twin barrel mvt with compound pendulum, "Médaille D'Or Bte SGDG CLT" stamped on gilt mvt, s#1597. DESCRIPTION: Clock - Waltham, automobile clock with "Rolls-Royce" marked dial, 8-day, 7J with colored winding indicator disk, painted metal case of approximately 3.5 inch diameter at its widest point contains an inner case which is released via a spring-loaded bayonet design (turn bezel counter-clockwise 30 degrees for release of inner case, which pops up surprisingly vigorously due to spring on its rear), mounted within a rectangular wooden panel, metal dial, SW-SS via folding tab at 12 on inner case, nickel damascene, s#21926707. A rare piece with Rolls-Royce marked dial.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, good winding indicator function, overhaul recommended, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, main plate with some fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with few tiny fine scratches between 1 and 2; fine hands with some paint loss; case shows medium wear, ample paint loss; winding tab shows medium wear; beveled glass crystal with some short scratches and longer micro-fine scratches. Wooden panel with some small chips and mild scratches.
