DESCRIPTION: WW - Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph, Pre-Moon, ref 105.012-66, manual wind, 42mm x 48mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case, "DON" (Dot Over Ninety) black tachymetre bezel, Omega 1039, with date code of 3/67, expandable bracelet with 516 end links, original black step dial with applied Omega logo and lume painted indices, three inset subregisters for minute recording, hour recording and subsidiary seconds, 17J, cal 321, s#24954998, triple signed. This is the same model watch that Neil Armstrong wore on his wrist when he took the famous first steps onto the moon surface. The Omega Speedmaster was chosen by NASA in 1965 after outperforming numerous other contenders in rigorous testing. They were first issued during the Gemini program using the older straight lug style 105.002, and more Speedmasters were purchased starting with the Apollo program astronauts being issued the "Professional" marked 105.012's in a beefier case with crown and pusher protectors as seen here. They remain flight qualified by NASA to this day and modern interpretations of this watch are still in production.
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, good chronograph functions and resets properly, hour recorder wanders but always resets to zero when the bottom right pusher is pressed, near mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; near flawless dial with small oil spot on the hour recorder sub dial; near mint hands; lightly polished case shows hardly any wear, still retains most of its original factory finishing, excellent DON bezel with several paint flakes, several dings on caseback from misuse of a case wrench; Omega signed crown shows hardly any wear; plastic crystal has several light cracks from 9 to 11 and 1 to 3.

DESCRIPTION: WW - Longines WWW, affectionately nicknamed the "Greenlander" due to rumored use during an expedition to Greenland in the early 1950s, reference 23088, manual wind, 38mm x 46mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original stainless steel stepped bezel case with screw back marked with Ministry of Defence stock numbers and reference numbers, leather military style strap, original black dial with white Arabic numerals and white painted broad arrow insignia, radium lume plots, 15J, Ministry of Defence case s#F4292, KNIL case s#4641, movement s#6933426, triple signed. This watch is one of the "Dirty Dozen," a group of twelve different Swiss watches commissioned by the British Ministry of Defence in the closing stages of World War II. This particular model was sold after the war to the KNIL or "Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger," an army run by the Netherlands to reassert control and dominion over Indonesia after the second World War once the area had been vacated by controlling Japanese forces. Very few WWW model wristwatches were sold to the KNIL making this truly a rare sight for the Dirty Dozen or British military watch collector.
